It’s tough out there.

In a market as saturated as that of underground house and techno, it’s often an uphill battle when it comes to getting your music into the right hands.

Not so, it would seem, for London based producer Bobby Champs, who can already count the likes of Tiga, Claude Vonstroke, Jackmaster & Ben UFO amongst his fans.

Champs’ raw, club ready compositions – that pay homage at once to both cutting edge New York House and strains of European Techno, have also seen support from Blawan, Joy Orbison & Maya Jane Coles – no mean feat for an artist still fine tuning his sound.

It comes as no surprise then, that over the past 12 months releases have surfaced via tastemaker labels such as Hypercolour and Pictures Music – whose combined stables can lay claim to some of the very biggest stars in underground dance music, including George Fitzgerald, Dark Sky and Lapalux – not to mention Coles herself

An accomplished DJ, 2012 saw Champs play Paris, Florence, Ghent & all across the UK – supporting household names such as Julio Bashmore, Theo Parrish & Redshape.

2013 sees Bobby Champs return to the fore, with an EP forthcoming via West Norwood Cassette Library’s own imprint WNCL. An impeccably curated selection of the young producers finest work to date looks set to cement Champs’ position in the collective consciousness as one of the UK’s most powerful new forces.
