Eglo Records label boss and Rinse Fm’s most diverse selector, Alexander Nut has made a name for himself blending all corners of the contemporary music spectrum into a glimmering prism of late-night futurism,  regularly filling Saturday afternoon’s with a mutant brew of bass heavy sounds from hip hop to house – broken beat to boogie to dubstep and beyond , showcasing a plethora of producers with a mixing style all his own. His label Eglo Records has fast become a byword for eclectic quality and continues to push the musical envelope with contrasting releases from Floating Points, Funkineven, Mizz Beats, Fatima and Arp 101.

In 2009 Nut released the 8th in the Rinse mix CD series, which was voted No.3 in Phonica’s top 100 releases of the year. In 2010 Nut also set up Eglo’s sister label Ho Tep which introduced the world to artists such Letherette, Throwing Snow and Dirg Gerner, leading to two nominations (inc best label) at Gilles Petersons 2012 World Wide Awards. A regular fixture at pioneering club nights such as FWD, Plastic People, Deviation and Fabric Live its clear Nut is one of the UK’s daring and respected Dj’s.

Since 2007 Alexander Nut has held down his weekly Saturday slot on Rinse FM, and as one of the first Dj’s to feature guests such has Hudson Mohawke, Harmonic 313, Bullion, Morgan Zarate, Kyle Hall, Jose James and Ras G he is considered one of the UK’s leading tastemakers, recent guests have included the likes of IG Culture, Andres (KDJ), Sampha and Teebs. In 2009 Nut provided the 44th mix in the legendary Fact Magazine mix series, considered by many to be a groundbreaking and a pivotal point in UK underground music. As well as being a highly respected club dj the word over and rocking festivals from Glastonbury to Outlook Nut has also provided Dj support for live acts including Prince (yes the purple) through to Dam Funk, Katy B, Africa Hi Tech and King Midas Sound.
